When it has to stand on the street, Northern Beaches Council’s stand plant application applies to any vehicle over 4.5 tonnes or 7.5 metres long on Council land, including roadways, footpaths and grass verges, and loading or unloading is one of its listed examples. Council asks for at least 2 working days to process it.

Homes facing a main road need extra care. The Council form says that work on a State or Regional Road, or within 100 metres of traffic lights, needs a Road Occupancy Licence from Transport for NSW, and it tells applicants to allow at least 10 working days. If your driveway opens onto Mona Vale Road or sits near the lights at Forest Way, ask Council about this well before you set a date, and tell us about it when you request a quote.
