Council hours and large trucks

Northern Beaches Council’s Stand Plant Application form is needed when a vehicle heavier than 4.5 tonnes, or 7.5 metres or more in length, stands on a road, footpath or grass verge owned by Council, and loading or unloading counts. The form asks for the hours of the permit and lists Council standard hours as 7:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 1:00pm Saturday. If a large truck needs to stand on Council land for an overnight or Sunday move, raise the timing with Council when you apply.

The hospital precinct and the new town centre

Frenchs Forest is changing. NSW Planning describes it as set to become a strategic centre built around the Northern Beaches Hospital and better transport links. The Frenchs Forest 2041 Place Strategy, finalised on 17 December 2021, plans a new town centre with shops, restaurants, cafes and offices, 2,000 new homes, and 2,000 new jobs, mainly in health and education.
